We live in a world of people who love to complain, but not fix the actual cause of their problems. I personally will never understand that. No.. really, I never will. That’s because I have always told myself, the only thing I can control in this world is myself, and my actions. I can choose how I let things affect me. Either positively, or negatively. Guess which one I pick every time.
With that said, the beautiful thing about life is, you get to choose who’s in yours, and who isn’t. “Friends” constantly putting you down? Then why are you keeping them around? Family doesn’t like the way you are pursuing life? Then why do you feel the need to constantly explain your decisions? “We” as individuals, know what it is that makes us happy. No one else in this world can tell me what makes me happy, because they aren’t me! In a way, I’m hinting towards being a bit more selfish.
Whether it is going to the gym more (yes, I know I should get my ass out of bed and go), being financially stable (and staying out of Target), or even just traveling more. You’re in control of that. Everyday we are faced with decisions to make, and we have to ask ourselves if the one we are making will either help, or halt our progress.
If you haven’t caught on by now… this all comes back to one simple word, “Choice”. We choose to let things stress us out, we choose to be happy, we choose to skip the gym, we choose to crush our goals, we choose to go out drinking instead of making dreams a reality, we choose to keep TOXIC people in our lives. “Choice” may be just a word, but it’s also the cause of a lot of our setbacks.
One decision, one choice is all it takes to start a completely different life. Don’t hesitate, as hesitation is the kiss of death. Stop thinking, and just go for what makes you happy. Start before you’re even ready. Don’t prepare, just get to it.
